TOLEDO, Ohio - After three completed events on the women's side and two on the men's, Kent State and Eastern Michigan are leading the field in the race for the 2016 Mid-American Conference Outdoor Track & Field title, respectively.
The day started off with Kent State going 1-2 in the women's hammer throw. Senior Jackie Leppelmeier threw 60.19m to take the title, while her sophomore teammate Gabrielle Figueroa hurled the hammer 57.96m to take second.
Ohio's Emma Ryan took the women's javelin title with a throw of 45.
