Cross Country Takes Action Across Five States in Opening Weekend

True freshman Juliana Stogsdill led the Ball State cross country team Friday evening in the Cardinals' season-opening event at the Butler Twilight tri-meet.

Stogsdill, a Plainfield, Illinois, product, ran the 5K in a time of 18:32.8 to finish sixth individually and pace Ball State to a second-place finish. She was one of two rookies to score for the Cardinals. Vivian Van Eck(18:59.2) finished 14th as the team's fifth scorer.

The host Butler Bulldogs won the event at Northview Church with 28 points after taking the top two positions and three of the top five.
