AKRON, Ohio – Clutch at-bats in the sixth inning from Emma Hoffner (two-RBI single) and Abby Kennell (RBI-single) lifted the second-seeded Ohio Bobcats to a 5-2 win over the top-seeded Miami RedHawks on Friday afternoon at historic Firestone Stadium.
With the win, the Bobcats advance to Saturday’s Mid-American Conference Softball Championship Game at 1 p.m. ET.
Ohio jumped out to a 2-0 lead thanks to runs in the top of the first and third innings before the RedHawks knotted the game in the bottom of the third with an RBI-triple from Chloe Parks and RBI-single from Ella Carter.
