EUGENE, Ore. — Central Michigan Track & Field's Emily Paupore proved her grit where it mattered the most on Thursday as she pushed through to a seventh-place, title race qualifying finish at the NCAA Steeplechase Semifinals at Hayward Field.
The Negaunee, Mich. senior will be continuing her historic run in the NCAA Championship race on Saturday among the nation's fastest athletes in the event in a battle for the national title.
Paupore shaved 10 whole seconds from her personal best and CMU school record --which she achieved on May 30 at the Jacksonville preliminary-- to fight her way into a qualifying spot in Eugene.
