Earlier Tuesday afternoon, Central Michigan Atheltics announced an agreement with Wyoming to play a football series in 2026 and 2027. The announcement was confirmed via press release.
The timing is certainly coincidental, as both CMU and Wyoming are preparing to play one another in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl on Friday, Dec. 22. CMU will host the first game on Sept. 19, 2026, in Mt. Pleasant, while Wyoming gets the second leg on Sept., 4, 2027 in Laramie.
The all-time series is 1-1 in anticipation of this month’s matchup, with CMU the winner of the last bout in 2001.
