BUTKUS AWARD® 32nd SEASON WATCH LISTS ANNOUNCED
CHICAGO – (July 12, 2016) – The 32nd annual Butkus Award® honoring the nation’s best linebackers kicked off its 2016 selection process today by announcing its collegiate and high school pre-season watch lists. Included this year is Bowling Green junior Austin Valdez.
Valdez, a native of Sylvania, Ohio, led the Falcons and the entire MAC last season with 144 tackles and started in all 14 games last season. Valdez added 11 tackles for loss, one sack, two interceptions and seven passes defensed. In 2015 Valdez was named as an All-MAC First Team honoree.
