MUNCIE, Ind. -- Ball State set a school record with 654 yards of total offense as the Cardinals rolled to a 42-6 win over Central Connecticut State in the season opener Thursday night at Scheumann Stadium. Ball State junior quarterback Riley Neal was 23-30 passing for 259 yards and two touchdowns, while junior running back James Gilbert rushed for 100 yards and one score.
