The Ball State Cardinals (7-4) lost their final game of the season against an in-state rival on Tuesday, with a 73-61 defeat at the hands of the Indiana State Sycamores (6-6).
The Sycamores took the lead from Ball State a little more than eight minutes into the game and led the rest of the way, successfully thwarting all Cardinal comeback attempts. Indiana State pushed the lead to nine at halftime and led by as many as 14 in the second half. Spanning the half, the Cardinals went nearly eight minutes without a field goal.
