MAC Female Scholar Athlete of the Week: April 3rd – April 10th
Akron junior Sophia Geier Women’s Tennis (3.898 GPA, Sport Management)
Akron junior Sophia Geier (Burgebrach, Germany) helped the Zips to 21 consecutive match victories and a perfect 6-0 record in MAC play with MAC wins over Northern Illinois and at Western Michigan with a pair of victories in both singles and doubles action over the weekend. Geier captured two wins at No. 1 singles. After dropping the first set, Geier rebounded to defeat Northern Illinois’ Adey Osabuohien, 1-6, 6-3, 6-3, on Friday.
