WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The University of Akron men's soccer team registered a dramatic 1-0 victory over top-seeded Wake Forest (18-3-0) in the third round of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday, Nov. 25, to earn a date with Stanford in the Elite Eight.
Junior Marcel Zajac (Mississauga, Ontario) recorded the game-winning goal in the 46th minute (45:51) off assists from sophomore David Egbo (Enugu, Nigeria) and senior Abdi Mohamed (Westerville, Ohio).
