The average at bats per game is 32, and a .366 slugging percentage generates 11.7 total bases and .532 will get 17.0 total bases. Looking at it that way, six bases is significant in terms of differentiating good teams from bad ones, but it simply does not come close to difference seen in team ERA so far in 2022.
