The Northern Illinois Huskies nearly pulled the upset over ACC foe Boston College last week but now have their sights set on in-state rival Eastern Illinois, who travels to DeKalb this Saturday.
The Eastern Illinois Panthers, an FCS team out of the Ohio Valley Conference, are coming off a last second win against Indiana State last week. A touchdown with three seconds left lifted EIU to a 22-20 win over the Sycamores.
This week, the Panthers will return to Huskie Stadium for the first time since 2013. Huskie fans remember the game four years ago when former Panther QB Jimmy Garoppolo got EIU out to a 20-0 lead and nearly upset the Huskies before Jordan Lynch and Cameron Stingily mounted a comeback and escaped with a 43-39 win.
