The number of people that gave the Kent State Golden Flashes a puncher’s chance on the road against the Clemson Tigers could likely fit in the Flashes’ locker room. After 4:23 of game action and Kent State already trailing 14-0, that number was likely considerably less. By the final gun, with Clemson on top 56-3 over the Flashes, reality finally set in.
It was no surprise, really, given the talent difference and raucous home environment for Clemson on a day where last year’s College Football Playoff Championship was honored, complete with stadium decorations commemorating the win.
