Kent State struck first, getting on the board with a Shane Hynes field goal. The Golden Flashes defense played well in the first half while their offense stagnated a bit, and went into the locker room down 13-3. The sole Bobcats touchdown in the first half came off of a Kent State fumble.
The Bobcats then blew the doors off Kent in the second half. It started with an 8 play, 95 yard touchdown, which sapped the will of the Golden Flashes. On the Bobcats next possession, A.J. Ouellette went 37 yards on the second play for a touchdown.
