While coach Mike Neu has yet to coach a game in Muncie, Ball State has recruited tremendously well during his short tenure. This trend has held up throughout the summer, and most recently with the commitment of defensive end Zach Haynes.

Haynes chose Ball State over reported offers from Appalachian State, Army, EMU, Navy, and a handful of FCS programs.
Haynes hails from Bowling Green, Kentucky and currently attends South Warren high school.
