2016 Week 8 Recap: Akron Spoils Ball State Homecoming 35-25

Let it not be said that Mike Neu and the Ball State Cardinals don’t know how to put on a show for Homecoming. Unfortunately for the fans in attendance, this show didn’t have the happy ending many were hoping for as the Akron Zips stormed back from a fast Ball State start to trump the Cardinals 35-25 on Homecoming in Muncie.

Early, it appeared that Ball State was prepared to make a statement win, perhaps the first in the Mike Neu era, as the stormed out to a 10-0 lead midway through the second quarter. After trading touchdowns for a 17-7 Cards’ lead, Akron would blast off 21 straight points for a 28-17 advantage with ten minutes remaining in the fourth quarter.
