Eastern Michigan (5-3) went into the half with a 39-35 lead over Detroit-Mercy (1-6), but then started the 2nd half with a 26-4 run to put the game out of reach. The Titans never got closer than 17 point after that. Detroit started the game on 12-2 run before Eastern answered with a 17-5 spurt and took their first lead 19-17.
