Central Michigan finished 17-16 a year ago, claiming their second consecutive Mid-American Conference West Division title. They were hit hard by graduation losses, including all-everything guard Chris Fowler and sharpshooting forward John Simons, the two linchpins of the program who led the resurgence that began when Davis took command before the 2012-13 season.
