AKRON, OHIO -- The 2016 season will mark the fifth year for head coach Terry Bowden leading the Zips football program and Bowden is looking for his Zips to build upon the program’s first-ever bowl victory in the FBS era and the Zips first bowl appearance since the 2005 season.
Bowden, who leads current MAC coaches with the most career wins (159) and ranks sixth nationally among active FBS head coaches in career wins, returns 48 letterwinners and seven starters from last year’s squad that finished with an 8-5 overall record, 5-3 in the MAC, and a 23-21 win over Utah State in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.
