Former Michigan Heisman Trophy winner Charles Woodson has been keeping in contact with Wolverines' do-everything player Jabrill Peppers for some time now.
Peppers, who arrived as a safety and now is a redshirt sophomore hybrid linebacker, is the first Michigan player since Woodson’s golden season in 1997 to really draw any legitimate comparisons to the multi-dimensional standout because of his ability to play in all three phases.
And Woodson has been keeping tabs. After games, if he sees something in Peppers' game that needs to be pointed out, he sends a text.
Woodson, now retired after a long NFL career and currently pursuing a broadcasting career with ESPN, was in Detroit on Tuesday as part of the Nike-Michigan unveiling of the new Jumpman football uniforms.
