When Michigan's Baseball coach Erik Bakich more than doubled his salary to go to Clemson, Warde had a new top priority. Things did not go as smoothly as Warde had hoped. Michigan's first choice Chris Fetter, former Wolverine and Detroit Tigers Pitching Coach removed his name from consideration last night. So did UConn's head coach Jim Penders that Warde worked with years ago in his former job.
Finding candidates and having them turn down the opportunity is not new; the issue is that Michigan is losing a ton of players to the transfer portal and to Clemson. I'm sure Dabo can't believe another Clemson program is leveraging the transfer portal.
