Why Michigan football's wide receivers might fare better this fall in Gattis' scheme

(This is Part 3 of a series reviewing Michigan’s 2019 position groups and looking ahead to 2020.)

When Josh Gattis arrived in Ann Arbor a year ago as Michigan football’s new offensive coordinator, the prevailing thought was that his scheme would showcase the Wolverines’ receivers.

The position group had plenty of talent in Nico Collins, Donovan Peoples-Jones and Tarik Black. Accordingly, expectations were sky-high entering the 2019 season, but weren't met.

Now, the Wolverines are in an interesting spot. Peoples-Jones is leaving for the NFL draft, and Black has entered the transfer portal.
