Last week, Donovan Peoples-Jones was asked what he hoped to convey to NFL evaluators at the league’s scouting combine in Indianapolis.
In a response packed with other clauses, the former Michigan football receiver began with this one: “That I’m explosive.”
Two days later, Peoples-Jones accomplished that goal during a battery of tests designed to show his physical attributes.
Peoples-Jones outperformed every combine participant in the vertical and broad jumps — 44.5 inches in the former, 11 feet, 7 inches in the latter. He also ran the 40-yard dash in 4.48 seconds.
The results offered confirmation that Peoples-Jones, at 6-2 and 212 pounds, is a superior athlete.
