While Derrick Walton Jr. had some ups and downs in his final run in the Maize and Blue, there is little question that he turned a corner during Big Ten play, helping the Wolverines to a strong final run that is expected to land them in the NCAA Tournament. The veteran guard was recognized for his play on Monday, earning second-team All-Big Ten honors from both the media and coaches.
Scoring more than 20 points on nine occasions during the season, Walton averaged 14.5 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game. He became the first player in Michigan history to record at least 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 400 assists over the course of his career.
