Villanova alum uses sign that mocked water crisis to raise money for Flint

FLINT, MI -- Villanova University fans have raised more than $2,000 for Flint after some basketball fans there hung a "cheap and tasteless" banner in advance of the NCAA championship basketball game against the University of Michigan.

Villanova alumni and Ann Arbor resident Meghan Klaric started the fund-raising on Crowdrise, an online site dedicated to charitable giving, after news of the banner spread on social media and in some news reports.

The sign displayed near Villanova's campus read, "The only lead @mich will have is in their water," referring the national championship game, which the Wildcats won, 79-62.
