Thrilling win over Wisconsin gives Michigan edge in Big Ten title race

It was a slog.

But games between these teams often seem to be.

No. 7 Michigan basketball survived a hard-fought battle against No. 19 Wisconsin, winning 61-52 at Crisler Center on Saturday afternoon.

Charles Matthews finished with a team-high 18 points and hit a bevy of difficult jumpers in the second half, including two late in the game.

The Wolverines (22-2, 11-2 Big Ten) held onto first place in the Big Ten, and earned a split against the Badgers.
