Smith brings plenty to table, including laser focus

Michigan Stadium was rocking last Saturday when tailback De’Veon Smith broke free for a 34-yard touchdown to give the Wolverines a 13-10 third-quarter lead over Indiana.

It reached another level when he ran 39 yards to make the score 20-10 just before the end of the quarter. The sideline was going crazy, too. Almost everyone except Smith.

“We had to finish the game. The game wasn’t over,” Smith said Tuesday after his career-best 158 rushing yards on 23 carries. “There’s nothing to be happy about until the end of the game.
