Shea Patterson wasn’t always a smooth operator.

On the first play of the 2019 season, the Michigan quarterback fumbled the football, starting a troubling trend that would handcuff the Wolverines' offense and scuttle drives. In the weeks that followed, Patterson would watch the ball tumble out of his hands and hit the turf on eight different occasions, leading to four turnovers.
