Report: Derrick Green to transfer from Michigan

College Football Talk is reporting that junior running back Derrick Green has been granted his release by Michigan and will pursue a transfer.

Citing “a source with knowledge of the situation,” the report states that Green will graduate from Michigan, giving him one year left to play immediately.

The former No. 1 rated running back prospect in the nation, Green earned the starting job his sophomore year, but broke his clavicle early in Big Ten play against Rutgers. He saw only minimal contribution this last fall, carrying the ball 47 times for 157 yards and two touchdowns.
