What appears to be a glut of quarterbacks at Michigan for next season has been thinned by one, as Kevin Doyle of Washington D.C. announced his decommitment Sunday.

“Thank you Coach (Pep) Hamilton and Coach (Jim) Harbaugh for the opportunity,” Doyle tweeted. “I am officially decommitted from the University of Michigan. I will be signing with a new school on Wednesday, Feb. 7th (national signing day).”

Doyle, a 6-foot-4, 210-pound three-star quarterback out of St. John’s College committed to the Wolverines in September, but did not sign during December’s early signing period. He was one of two quarterbacks in the class, along with Florida four-star Joe Milton, who has enrolled early at Michigan.
