Purdue engineers hard at work, but Isaac Haas' elbow is still fractured

Purdue was able to engineer a trip to the Sweet 16 without its star center, and you shouldn't expect Isaac Haas to be on the floor Friday night against Texas Tech.

That's in spite of the latest efforts by some of the school's top minds to create an NCAA-approved brace for the 7-foot-2 big man.

Haas fractured his right elbow in Purdue's first-round win over Cal-State Fulerton. On Sunday, he was warming up with a brace, but wasn't cleared to play. The Louisville Courier-Journal reports the sports medicine program has reached out to some of the school's mechanical engineers to see what they can do.
