The transfer portal opens later this week. It's an opportunity for teams, Michigan football included, to remake their rosters for the 2026 season.
In the case of the Wolverines, the most important thing is roster retention. New head coach Kyle Whittingham is working on that now. Things with Bryce Underwood, for instance, are trending in the right direction.
Other players have already said they are going to return such as Jake Guarnera and running back Jordan Marshall.
Andrew Marsh is another name to watch. If there is one player fans are worried about departing, outside of Underwood, Marsh is it.
