• Today marked the second meeting between Michigan and BYU. The only other previous meeting was in the 1984 Holiday Bowl, a 24-17 Cougars victory.
• The win over No. 22 BYU was the first over a ranked team for Michigan since 2013 when the Wolverines topped No. 14 Notre Dame 41-30 in Michigan Stadium. Michigan is now 3-1 at home vs. ranked teams since the beginning of the 2011 season.
• The shutout by Michigan was the first since 2012 vs. Illinois (45-0). The last time BYU was held scoreless was 2003 vs. Utah (3-0).
• For the second straight week, Michigan shut out its opponent in the first three quarters.
