A year ago, Michigan players went to the annual football bust and watched already-fired coach Brady Hoke try to sum up a disastrous 5-7 season.
The players felt embarrassed and resolved to change their approach. When Jim Harbaugh was installed as coach less than a month later, a switch flipped.
On Monday night, looking back on a 9-3 regular season, the banquet at Livonia’s Laurel Manor had an entirely different feel.
