Penn State’s Zettel perseveres after losing father

The videos have become legendary.

To say the least, Penn State’s 6-foot-4, 284-pound senior defensive tackle is inventive.

“I got a lot of (ribbing) for that,” Zettel said during a telephone interview. “I still do the tree-tackling stuff. I have no fear.”

He said he was — although the past tense may not be accurate — “a wild child.”

Zettel grew up in West Branch, Mich., and attended Ogemaw Heights High.
