CINCINNATI, Ohio – Junior captain JT Compher scored a pair of goals and goaltender Steve Racine made 44 saves, but it wasn’t enough to extend Michigan’s hockey season.
Compher scored on the power play at 8:39 of the third period to tie the game, 2-2, for Michigan.
But North Dakota scored twice in a span of 1:14 and went on to beat Michigan, 5-2, in the NCAA Midwest regional championship game at U.S. Bank Arena. Michigan finished the season 25-8-5.
Forward Rhett Gardner tipped in a shot from North Dakota defenseman Paul LaDue at 12:03 of the third.
