Ninth-inning magic gives Michigan baseball a comeback victory over Michigan State

The 22nd ranked Michigan baseball team was silenced for eight innings in Sunday afternoon’s home game vs. rival Michigan State.

That was until the Wolverines plated eight runs across in the bottom of the ninth inning, capped by Jimmy Obertop’s two-run, game-winning home run blast to defeat the Spartans by a score of 8-7 in Ann Arbor.

The victory is the eighth win in the last nine games for the Wolverines. MSU started out Sunday’s contest with two runs in second, two more in the fifth and added three more in the seventh and eighth innings.
