Nation’s top prospect puts final touch on UM’s class

Ann Arbor — After hosting a celebrity-filled party at Hill Auditorium to introduce Michigan’s 2016 freshman football class while raising money for the ChadTough Foundation, Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh was beaming.

That might have been because Michigan landed the nation’s No. 1 player, New Jersey’s Rashan Gary, who went down to the wire with his decision before revealing on ESPN that he had chosen the Wolverines over Clemson.

Harbaugh locked down a class of 29, with the late addition of four-star tight end Devin Asiasi, rated No. 3 at his position by 247Sports. Asiasi of De La Salle in California, chose Michigan over UCLA.
