Moe Wagner's place in Michigan basketball history goes beyond the stats

ANN ARBOR -- Fifty years from now, a Michigan basketball historian could be forgiven for breezing past "Wagner, Moritz" in the record books. Wagner currently ranks 44th in program history in points scored and 40th in games played. He's outside the top-20 in every other important category, even 3-pointers made.

Wagner's career numbers are remarkably similar to former Wolverine Lester Abram's -- good but not great.

Numbers, of course, don't tell the whole story. Wagner -- who will skip his senior year to play in the NBA -- will be remembered by fans for years to come not just because of Michigan's success during his career, but because his passion and personality matched his 6-foot-11 frame.
