Missed opportunities the catalyst to Michigan’s loss against Villanova

It wasn’t the way the coaches, players or fans wanted the season to end. But then again, no one expected the 11-seeded Michigan Wolverines to be dancing into the second weekend of the NCAA Tournament after a disappointing regular season and going one-and-done in the Big Ten Tournament.

Michigan’s NCAA Tournament clock struck midnight on Thursday, as it fell to Villanova, 63-55, in the Sweet 16 in a game that was oddly reminiscent of the Elite Eight game last year against UCLA. Against the Bruins last season, the Wolverines shot 20-of-51 from the field, one of their worst performances of the 2020-21 season.
