Michigan's Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman now aggressive at both ends

Near the end of January and into early February, Michigan coach John Beilein publicly challenged his players to give more effort.

There weren't specific names floated publicly, but behind closed doors, it was apparent.

Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman understood there was more he could give.

In the past month, he has, and the Wolverines have leapt along with him.

In this season's first 20 games, he averaged 7.8 points, shot 40% from the field and 33% from three-point range.

Then the shift arrived and his game followed.

Beginning with the Jan. 26 blowout win over Indiana, Abdur-Rahkman looked like a different player.
