Franz Wagner didn't have to join Michigan basketball.
He could've stayed in Germany and made some money before attempting a jump to the NBA. It would've kept him close to his family. He would've continued to play under people who were deeply invested in his growth.
But Wagner wanted more. He wanted the same experience that his brother, Moritz, had at Michigan.
