Ann Arbor — A week ago, Michigan center Mason Cole was coming off an illness, what he described as a typical change-of-weather type of thing that held him out of some practices.
But he had no intention of missing the Michigan State game last week.
He was the team’s offensive lineman of the game in which he and Michigan State standout Malik McDowell went toe to toe. The two frequently stayed locked in even after the whistle had blown.
“Just a rivalry game,” Cole said smiling. “Tensions are high. The game has always been like this.
