ANN ARBOR -- The Michigan football team made it a point in 2017 to field the best players available along its offensive line.
That meant moving all-Big Ten center Mason Cole to left tackle. And playing four-star true freshman Cesar Ruiz out of position -- first as an extra lineman, then a few starts at right guard.
But 2018 is a new year, one that has Ruiz back in his old, more familiar, spot.
"When I moved to guard, I never stopped snapping or anything like that," Ruiz, now a sophomore, told reporters on Tuesday. "I always knew how to snap.
