Michigan's Bryan Mone lands on Polynesian award watch list

Now it's time for Bryan Mone to get a little preseason love.

Michigan's senior defensive tackle has landed on the Polynesian College Football Player of the Year Award watch list for 2017, it was announced Thursday.

The award is handed out annually to the most outstanding player with Polynesian ancestry. Mone was born in California, but his family moved to the United States from the Polynesian island chain of Tonga.

A 6-foot-4, 310-pound brick wall, Mone is in the running to start at defensive tackle for his fourth and final season at Michigan. But it's going to depend largely on his health.
