ANN ARBOR – It has been 10 months since Michigan’s women’s basketball team found out it did not make the 2017 NCAA tournament, but to players in coaches, it still feels like last week.

The Wolverines felt they deserved to be in the tournament, finishing 22-9 and 11-5 in the Big Ten during the regular season. But they did not make the round of 64, and instead settled for the WNIT, which they won.

Still, it still was not completely satisfying, and the team has carried that chip on its shoulder into this season.
