Washington – There’s something about Michigan facing the No. 1 seed in the Big Ten tournament.
For the second straight year, the Wolverines ousted the top-seeded team with a gritty 74-70 overtime win over Purdue Friday afternoon at the Verizon Center.
D.J. Wilson poured in 26 points, Zak Irvin scored 13, Derrick Walton Jr. 12 and Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman 10 for Michigan (22-11).
Michigan advances to face the winner of Michigan State-Minnesota in the semifinals Saturday at 1 p.m.
Vince Edwards and Isaac Haas each scored 17 and Caleb Swanigan had 13 points and 13 rebounds for Purdue (25-7).
