This was supposed to be an exciting summer for Jamal Cain. It was supposed to be a summer highlighted by college visits, AAU tournaments and simple pleasures that come with a high school teenager on summer break. With schools like the University of Michigan, Florida State, Xavier, Oakland and Detroit all offering him basketball scholarships, it was Cain's last big recruiting summer before entering his senior year at Detroit Cornerstone.
Yet, one tragic incident has turned Cain's has summer one of grieving.
On Wednesday, Hasan Cain, Jamal's father, was laid to rest after begin the victim of a July 24 stabbing incident that eventually led to his death on July 26.
