Michigan's season came to an end Sunday afternoon after the softball team surrendered the lead late to Notre Dame.
After Lou Allen hit a sacrifice fly to give the Wolverines a 1-0 lead in the top of the sixth inning, the Irish answered with two runs in the bottom of the inning, holding on to win 2-1 in a NCAA Regional elimination game.
Michigan senior Aidan Falk hit a leadoff double in the seventh inning but was stranded at second base.
The Wolverines, whose season ends in an NCAA regional for the second straight year, finish the season 44-13 but lost four of their final five games, scoring one or fewer runs in each of the losses.
