Michigan’s men’s ice hockey team had arguably its worst showing of the season on Friday night, losing to Minnesota by a final score of 6-0. While Minnesota has been one of the nation’s best teams this year, entering the series ranked No, 4, the Wolverines were clearly overmatched.
Still, Michigan had a chance to get out of the Twin Cities with a series tie, taking the ice once again on Saturday night against the Golden Gophers.
Michigan was offered the chance to get off to a fast start, as Minnesota’s Jimmy Snuggerud was assessed a tripping penalty less than a minute into the game.
